AAM Store Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: 20 September 2026
This policy explains how AAM Store collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit our website, create an account, place an order, contact support or choose to receive communications. AAM Store is the controller responsible for this information.
1. Who we are
AAM Store is an electronics retailer operating from Shop No. 29, Alkapone Plaza, Tudun Yola C (Opposite Zeennoor Hotel), Off Gwarzo Road, Kano, Nigeria.
Privacy enquiries and requests can be sent to aamstore.ng@gmail.com or submitted through our contact page.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password hash and email-verification status.
- Shopping and order information: saved cart, selected products, delivery address, order history, payment reference, payment status, delivery updates and support notes.
- Content you provide: product reviews, support enquiries and information supplied when reporting a product or payment issue.
- Technical information: security and server-log information such as IP address, browser or device details, request time and pages requested.
- Information from service providers: payment confirmation and transaction status from Paystack, and delivery or error status from communications providers where available.
We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number, card PIN or CVV. Those details are entered on Paystack's secure payment service.
3. How and why we use information
- Create, secure and administer customer accounts.
- Verify email addresses and prevent account misuse.
- Maintain carts and process, fulfil and track orders.
- Confirm payments and handle payment or refund enquiries.
- Send requested email-verification messages.
- Provide customer support and respond to privacy requests.
- Protect the website, investigate fraud and maintain reliable services.
- Meet accounting, consumer-protection and other legal duties.
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the store.
4. Google API and Gmail data
AAM Store uses the Gmail API with the narrow gmail.send permission to send account-verification and related service emails from an AAM Store-controlled Gmail account. Google may process the recipient's email address, name and message content as necessary to deliver those emails.
The integration does not let customers sign in with Google, does not access customers' Google accounts, and does not request permission to read, modify or delete Gmail messages, contacts or files. OAuth credentials for the AAM Store sender account are stored only in protected server configuration and are not exposed in the storefront or sold to third parties.
AAM Store's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. WhatsApp communications
Our public WhatsApp support link opens a conversation with AAM Store through WhatsApp. No message is sent until you choose to send it, and WhatsApp processes the conversation according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Automated WhatsApp welcome and order-status messages are currently disabled. If we introduce them later, we will ask for explicit consent before using your phone number, name, order identifier and order status for those messages, and will provide a way to withdraw that consent.
6. Browser storage and product sharing
The storefront uses browser local storage for essential features, including a guest cart and, after sign-in, the session token and basic account profile needed to keep you signed in. You can remove this information by signing out, clearing the cart where applicable, or clearing your browser's site data.
We currently do not use advertising cookies or third-party behavioural analytics. If you choose a product-sharing option, your browser or the selected social or messaging service receives the product name, price and page URL needed to complete that share.
7. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share only what is necessary with providers that help operate the store, including:
- DigitalOcean for application and database hosting.
- Paystack for payment processing and verification.
- Google Gmail API for transactional email delivery.
- WhatsApp when you choose to start a support conversation.
- Cloudinary for product-image hosting.
- Delivery, professional, regulatory or law-enforcement parties when needed to fulfil an order, obtain advice or comply with law.
Some providers process information outside Nigeria. Where information is transferred internationally, we use the safeguards required by applicable law and limit the transfer to its stated purpose.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Account information is normally kept while the account remains active. Order and payment records may be retained longer for accounting, dispute-resolution, consumer-protection and legal obligations.
Email-verification links expire after 24 hours and only a hash of the verification token is stored. Security logs and backups are kept for limited operational periods. You may request deletion, but we may retain records where law or an unresolved transaction requires it.
9. Security
We use measures intended to protect personal information, including HTTPS, restricted server access, hashed passwords, expiring authentication and verification tokens, access controls and server-side storage of service credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so customers should use a unique password and promptly report suspected account misuse.
10. Your privacy rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable exceptions, you may ask to be informed about our processing, access your information, correct it, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, request portability, or request deletion. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Send a request to aamstore.ng@gmail.com. If a concern is not resolved, you may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
11. Children, changes and contact
The store is not directed to children. A person under 18 should use the service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate involvement, contact us.
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The updated date will appear at the top, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
